Description : You are the viceroy of the Scorched Queen, appointed by her to subjugate the barren wastelands and recover the lost treasures of the Smoldering City, the last bastion of civilization that miraculously stood firm against the Blightstorm that destroyed the old world. In most city-building games with survival elements, you manage just a single city, but in Against the Storm, your task is to build a vast network of thriving settlements inhabited by diverse, fantastical peoples with distinct lifestyles, needs, and skills. The undeveloped lands are teeming with unexpected threats, and relentless storms will hinder your people's efforts to rebuild. You will lose settlements, expeditions will fail, but this does not mean defeat. Against the Storm is a game with elements of a simplified roguelike, meaning even if you fail, you can continue your mission, retaining resources, upgrades, and experience from previous expeditions.

  • Foxes, beavers, lizards, humans, and harpies help each other survive in this dangerous world. Use the strengths of each race to meet the needs of all. Build suitable shelters and provide food for everyone, produce luxury goods, and organize leisure activities. Sew raincoats, brew ale, bake pies—by any means necessary, try to boost the morale of the population, constantly threatened by the dangerous and unexplored forest. Or perhaps you'll prioritize the needs of just one species to more quickly fulfill the Scorched Queen's command?
  • Add roguelike elements to a classic city-building simulator, and you've got a game you simply can't put down. Build cities and manage multiple settlements on a vast map, all the while collecting valuable resources to improve the Smoldering City. Feel the pressure of an impatient monarch, as the Scorched Queen demands regular successes, while Blightstorms spell doom for your cities. Manage your reputation to secure success in one settlement before building another, constantly seek out new opportunities for growth, tackle unique challenges in various biomes, and be prepared for the inevitable destruction of everything but the Smoldering City. How can you get the most out of each cycle to ensure not only the best outcome for the Smoldering City but also advance your career as the Queen's Viceroy?
  • A new city means new challenges: hundreds of gameplay modifiers and six diverse biomes await you. Prove yourself a talented and capable governor. Adapt to changing weather conditions, experiment with a variety of perks and building designs that can either bring prosperity to your newly created society or destroy it. Will you take on additional quests and venture into the depths of a dangerous forest for potential rewards, or will you proceed cautiously and within your means? You never know what goods the Merchant will bring next year, and the forest holds not only treasures and resources, but also ancient dangers.
