    Description : Darkwood is a game of survival, exploration, and fear set in mysterious forests somewhere in the Soviet bloc. Featuring a top-down perspective and free-roaming controls, this surreal horror experience awaits you in a world that is generated anew each time. Taking cues from classic games that often required you to figure things out yourself and incorporating RPG, roguelike, adventure elements, and challenging difficulty, Darkwood aims to satisfy players' thirst for a deep and rewarding experience. The fear of the unknown is powerful—the unknown will try to remain unnoticed, forcing you to look over your shoulder. Your senses will be deceived, your sight will fool itself, and your sense of smell will be misled by the surreal horror of Darkwood. The answer won't be given to you for free, but somewhere in the forest lies the truth, an explanation of what happened in this godforsaken place.

  • During the day, explore the randomly generated forest, search for useful materials and weapons, discover secrets, solve riddles, and talk, trade, or kill the various inhabitants of Darkwood.
  • At night, find shelter, barricade, set traps and hide or protect yourself from the horrors that lurk in the dark.
  • Gain skills or perks by extracting substances from mutated flora and fauna and injecting them into your bloodstream. This can also lead to various unexpected consequences...
  • Every action you take will impact Darkwood and its inhabitants. Every choice you make will shape the story you follow.
  • As the days pass, the line between reality and nightmarish fantasies begins to blur. You'll begin to question the protagonist's sanity, but you might also stumble upon your own hidden fears...
