Description:
Death Stranding takes place in Set in a post-apocalyptic future in the former United States, devastated by an invasion of ghostly creatures from another world, the player controls Sam (Norman Reedus), a courier tasked with traversing the continent and connecting isolated settlements. Death Stranding combines free-roaming, open-world exploration, where players must navigate their way to their next destination, with lengthy cinematic cutscenes rendered in-game using motion capture technology. The core gameplay revolves around transporting valuable packages from one settlement to another, while avoiding loss or damage to the cargo. The game features sophisticated cross-country navigation mechanics and asynchronous multiplayer elements.
Game Features:

  • The key is in preparation: - Sam's first step is preparing for a mission, adjusting his gear and balancing his loadout. The hero's loadout isn't just on his back—elements of it are also present on his suit, including his arms. How all this array of gadgets and elements will aid Sam as he navigates the open world remains to be seen. But it's clear there's a purpose to it all.

  • Plan your own route: Before leaving the facility, Sam studies the map, which can be switched to topological mode to see all the terrain features. Players can mark their desired route with markers on the map, planning it and preparing accordingly—bringing ladders, anchors, boots, and other equipment.

  • You're not the only traveler in this world: We're confident you won't encounter other players in this world, but you'll often stumble upon things they've built or abandoned during your travels. There will be plenty of clues throughout the game world that you're not alone, and that hundreds of other adventurers are traveling alongside you. For example, you might find a prepared crossing over a cliff. Don't forget to acknowledge such generosity with gratitude.

  • Treat yourself: - Remember that Sam bears a huge burden, both literally and figuratively, so sometimes he needs to rest, simply by lying in the grass, enjoying a massage of his tired shoulders, stretching, and even a light nap. Sam also enjoys playing a melody on the harmonica he received, or taking a bath in an energizing spring.

  • Lighten your load: - Another interesting piece of equipment, or rather gadget, is a hovercraft transporter capable of carrying a considerable amount of cargo while following Sam as he runs ahead. This assistant will surely make life easier for many travelers, speeding up deliveries and allowing them to carry more cargo. Just in case Sam finds some unneeded, but interesting cargo that he doesn't want to leave unattended.

  • The flying vehicle can also transport you: - If necessary, Sam can use the flying vehicle as a platform for gaining altitude and surveying the terrain, as well as stealthily approaching enemy camps that are not expecting an infiltration from the skies. The transporter can also be used as an anti-gravity skateboard, just like Marty McFly in the year 2015!

  • Don't be a burden: - Keep in mind that carrying a heavy load slows you down and can become a liability in combat if you get caught up in one. During the gameplay demo, there was just such an instance where Sam was unable to escape a dangerous situation. If the situation gets too dire, you can always drop the load; after all, it's easier to fight off enemies while carrying lighter weights than with kilograms of weight on your back, even with an exoskeleton.
