DESCRIPTION : The third game in the Descent series, a highly original hybrid of a flight simulator and a corridor shooter. The story follows protagonist Material Defender 1032, who narrowly escaped death in the explosion of an alien planetoid and headed back to Earth. But on the way home, his fighter malfunctioned for unknown reasons. Drifting toward the Sun, the ship is picked up at the last moment by a rescue vessel belonging to the Red Acropolis research team. From its director, the nameless Defender learns that the virus transforming peaceful robots into ruthless killers is alive and well, and that PTMC, Defender's former employers, are carefully covering it up. Out of gratitude to his rescuers, or perhaps more likely a desire to finally get his hard-earned money, Defender agrees to participate in the investigation.
