Description: Build your empire in the world of ants, constructing massive nests and complex hierarchies in this microscopic real-time strategy game. Command different species of warrior ants in brutal battles as workers build a nest and gather resources to expand their base, and protect your queen at all costs amidst the threats and opportunities of the insect world. Hundreds of warriors clash in battle. The gnashing of their mandibles is accompanied by volleys of formic acid. As night falls, workers rush underground, dodging beetle attacks, to deliver food to the nest. Supplies are running low, and without replenishment, new soldiers will not hatch for the ongoing war between the undergrowth empires. Ants flock to the nest from the surface. Not all of them returned, but those who did bring valuable food resources that will help bolster the front with a new force of young soldiers from the nursery, following pheromone markers and performing various tasks along the way. They are the colony's last stronghold, born with one purpose: to hold the front line! Victory is assured! Reinforcements arrive just in time, unstoppable even by the terrifying monster before them. Today, a mad scientist has created a terrifying monster by crossing a hermit crab with a scorpion, but the colony has evolved in the right direction after encounters with such unnatural adversaries in the past. After a grueling battle, the chimera is on the brink of defeat, but a new enemy intervenes: like thunder from the heavens, the hand of an unknown creature crushes half the reinforcements, and the scientist's ominous laughter echoes from the heights. The tide has shifted again... In addition to classic RTS battles against AI and unique seasonal levels, Empires of the Undergrowth also features a story-driven campaign mode. Follow the progress of a lab experiment on the mysterious gene-stealing Formica ereptor ants, while learning about different ant species and their natural habitats. Earn resources by completing missions in natural biomes to upgrade your main lab colony to suit your playstyle, and lead your ant colony through a series of rigorous trials conducted "in the name of science"â€”but not everything is as it seems...
