God of War Ragnarok is the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018). Fimbulwinter has arrived. Kratos and Atreus must explore all nine realms in search of answers, while Odin's forces in Asgard prepare for a battle that is prophesied to destroy all life. The heroes will discover breathtakingly beautiful landscapes and confront fearsome foes in the form of the Norse gods and legendary monsters. As Ragnarok draws inexorably closer, Kratos and Atreus must choose between their own safety and the well-being of the realms.

Atreus seeks knowledge that will help him understand the prophecy of "Loki" and understand the role destined for him. And Kratos must decide whether he will continue to live in fear of repeating his own mistakes or break the shackles of the past and become the father Atreus deserves.

In addition to familiar equipment like the Leviathan Axe, the Blades of Chaos, and the Guardian Shield, Kratos and Atreus will gain a host of new abilities. To protect his loved ones, Kratos will have to use all his Spartan skills as he battles gods and monsters across the nine realms.

This is an emotional, deeply personal, and replayable adventure, combining God of War's sophisticated combat system with elements of the roguelite genre.

Kratos's journey continues in a new setting: Valhalla. Confronted with echoes of his past, the hero must overcome his inner barriers and follow the path destined for him.

The beloved combat system will feature unexpected elements inspired by the roguelite genre. In Valhalla, you'll need to master every aspect of Kratos's arsenal, adapting to new challenges each time. Different enemy combinations and other surprises await!

Death isn't the end. Kratos retains all weapons, skills, shields, and abilities, but with each run, his stats, runic attacks, and special traits are reset. As you progress through the game, you'll choose rewards that will help you progress further into the mysterious depths of Valhalla, as well as accumulate resources to purchase permanent upgrades.
