Game features :
  • Freeflow Combat System. The two-button combat system that allowed Batman fans to effortlessly feel like the caped superhero returns in the new game: here, characters also bounce from one enemy to the next, raining down a barrage of blows. Counterattacks, however, are no longer available; instead, players are encouraged to use dodges.
  • Stealth. Many moments can still be (and even should be) completed stealthily—but this time, it seems, you'll have to do without infrared vision, which made life far too easy in Batman: Arkham.
  • Detective Mode. Searching for clues at crime scenes using special "vision" plays a key role in gameplay. For example, this is how Batgirl finds the clue that will lead the heroes to the Court of Owls.
  • Travel system. Batman's students also prefer to reach their destinations using either a grappling hook, which allows them to leap across rooftops, or personal transport like Nightwing's bike.
  • Open world. Players will still have to reclaim Gotham from the numerous gangs that have taken over the city's streets and key locations, prevent their crimes, and complete side quests related to various supervillains. Gotham Knights will also feature fast travel points, first introduced in Batman: Arkham Origins.
  • Visual style. The new game also carries over all the visual hallmarks of Rocksteady games: Gothic architecture, grimy alleyways covered in graffiti, and a focus on colorful comic-book aesthetics over realism.
