Description: As dusk falls in Kentucky, birdsong gives way to the chorus of frogs and insects, familiar roads become less familiar, making it easy to get lost. And those already lost might find themselves on a secret highway that runs through a system of underground caves. The people living and working along this road seem a little strange at first, but you soon become accustomed to themâan aging delivery man delivering the last order for a closing antique store, a girl repairing old televisions surrounded by ghosts, a boy and his enormous eagle friend, robot musicians, an invisible but invisibly observing power company, and small communities dying out, struggling with their own extinction. KENTUCKY ROUTE ZERO is a five-act magical realism game featuring a haunting electronic score, as well as a collection of anthems and bluegrass tunes by The Bedquilt Ramblers. This story is about unpaid debts, an unattainable future, and people searching for a place in society. The game's stunning visuals are inspired by theater, film, and experimental electronic artâas much as by the history of video games.
