Description: Patron combines classic elements of city-building simulators and survival strategy games. It features an extensive tech tree and introduces intricate social dynamics into the game and the genre as a whole. Happiness, a familiar metric in similar games, becomes a fully-fledged gameplay element in the world of Patron. The game starts off fairly standard for a game in this genre, but then the Patron player must delve into social intricacies and learn to truly manage a society, not just a city of weak-willed bots. Each resident has their own needs, desires, and problemsâ€”in short, what worries them or makes them happy. Some are preoccupied with immigration, while others are more concerned with taxes. If a resident's opinion on a matter aligns with the actions of the city government (that is, YOU, the player), they will be happy. This also works the other way around.
