Centuries after the Exodus, new coalitions emerge to challenge the Spiritist ideals. The Coalition of Return, led by the Committee of Truth, seeks to return to Earth from the root worlds, rejecting the Spiritist influence. Similarly, the Sponge Empire defends humanity's place in the Psychosphere, rather than in the promised utopias. Players complete missions for various factions, shaping the narrative of the Psychosphere's history over centuries. This vast timeframe makes it challenging to introduce human characters, resulting in a unique approach to storytelling. Perimeter offers a rich and complex storyline, though some elements were omitted from the international version of the game, leading to community efforts to translate and clarify the storyline.
