Description: 2023: The world is under pressure! As 2023 begins, the war in Ukraine continues to haunt the planet. Beyond the risk of military escalation, the conflict's consequences could be geopolitical (a clash of ideologies between democratic and authoritarian models) and economic (due to persistently high inflation worldwide, leading to a decline in purchasing power and increasing social inequality). Nevertheless, all countries agree that the war must end as soon as possible! But the current situation between Ukraine, preparing its counteroffensive, and Russia, trying to hold on to the regions it annexed, appears hopeless. To further simulate this conflict, several military-tactical game features have been added: digging trenches, constructing anti-tank lines like "dragon's teeth" and bunkers, introducing artillery using mortar shells, laying minefields, simulating troop morale, which affects combat effectiveness and the risk of desertion, the possibility of covert troop transfer, the use of kamikaze drones, partial mobilization, allocating a budget for training and equipping infantry, hiring a private paramilitary group, high-speed missiles, establishing an international military base, etc. The "Ukrainian Counteroffensive" scenario allows you to play as Ukraine at the beginning of the offensive with up-to-date data on the front lines, troop levels, detailed information on weapons, especially those promised by Western powers, etc. Your goal is to recapture as much of your territory as possible in order to be able to negotiate peace agreements from a position of strength, while keeping in mind the possibility of nuclear weapons. Following several years of the COVID pandemic, immigration levels worldwide have risen significantly again due to the devastating impact of global warming and the economic consequences in poor countries due to rising energy and food prices. GPS 2023 Edition expands the migration framework by integrating detailed information on immigration flows for all countries, including entry and exit (illegal immigration, economic, student, humanitarian, family reunification, etc.), and offering new migration policy tools: regulating jus solis, family reunification, naturalization, and legalization of illegal immigrants; building detention centers and border fences; agreements with countries of origin on issuing visas, strengthening borders, detaining transit migrants, and facilitating the deportation of illegal immigrants; entry and exit from the Schengen area, etc. A new scenario on reducing illegal immigration will demonstrate how these measures will be implemented.
