Description: The game explores the possibility that the so-called Cold War is turning hot around 1985, on one of its most iconic fronts: Germany. The premise is that Gorbachev is losing power to a group of hardliners who decide that the time has come for the Soviet Union (and its Pact allies) to strike first while they still enjoy superior numbers and surprise. They fear that their current advantage will fade over time, and they know they cannot win the new technological arms race initiated by the West. From NATO's side, such an attack would certainly be the nightmare everyone fears, but the situation is slightly better than in the 1970s, when the advantages in morale, equipment, and training were much greater in favor of the other side. The scale of the game is at the brigade or division level for ground units on both sides, with smaller units (such as armor, AA, EW, special forces, or engineers) also present. Air units are represented by squadrons. Naval units are also present, limited to the Baltic Sea sector. Other objectives, such as fortifications, minefields, headquarters, supply depots, transport facilities, and even refugees and retreating troops, are also present in large numbers. The map covers all of West Germany, the Low Countries, Eastern France, Austria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, and Western Poland. Parts of Denmark, the Baltic Sea, Italy, Hungary, and the Soviet Union are also represented (in boxes off the map). All natural terrain types are present, with differences showing the varying levels of development in this part of Europe and their impact on military operations. Players will not only participate in detailed military operations and battles (both on the ground and in the air) in the central sector of Europe, but also experience certain military, political, and diplomatic aspects of war in other regions (the Balkans, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and the Far East), most of which are resolved through maps or the occurrence of events. In the military realm, you will manage troop movements and maneuvers, the organization of air forces, headquarters, and all types of support assets, respites, actions, and the creation of logistical networks or defensive positions. Many other aspects are also represented, such as special forces, chemical warfare, and possibly tactical nuclear strikes, as well as popular resistance, troop training, replenishment, unit rotation management, and warfare behind enemy lines.
