Description : SlavicPunk: Oldtimer is an isometric shooter based on the works of the famous Polish writer Michal Golkowski in the genres of science fiction and fantasy. It was Michal Golkowski who created the story of Janus - a private detective with a turbulent past; As he attempts to solve a case of stolen data, he battles inner demons, urban gangs, and an all-powerful corporation responsible for the decline of the city he once called home. The game offers a robust combat and movement system, as well as a modular weapon upgrade system, allowing players to customize every encounter as they navigate the city's dark corners. Action-packed levels featuring elements of stealth, hacking, and puzzle solving alternate with quieter moments of city exploration, side quests, and storytelling. This unique, deeply Slavic approach to the cyberpunk world will captivate everyone with its wry sense of humor and slightly pessimistic outlook on the neon-gray hues of reality, simultaneously bringing a breath of fresh air to the genre.

As a team, we wanted to explore what the modern world would look like in a few decades. Would a hypothetical Central European city and its inhabitants be different from the Los Angeles of Blade Runner or the Neo-Tokyo of Akira? Trying to answer this question had a profound impact on the game's artistic choices, including the mix of futuristic and outdated technology, the brutalist architecture typical of post-communist countries, the protagonist's ambiguous moral choices, and the improvisational nature and atmosphere of an environment crowded with people forced to deal with the uneven distribution of wealth, relying on their wits and luck to survive until the next paycheck without losing their minds.

SlavicPunk's story reveals that this dystopian vision of the future runs deeper than meets the eyeâ€”only players can uncover what lies beneath the neon glow and piles of concrete by solving the case and helping Janus understand just how brutal the truth can be.
