Description : SpaceEngine is a scientifically accurate and photorealistic 3D space simulator that models the entire Universe at a 1:1 scale. Billions of galaxies, nebulae, stars, and planets - all modeled at real scale. Explore Earth and neighboring worlds in our solar system, fly around a black hole in a galaxy billion light-years from home, visit any of a septillion planets - and all this without loading screens. Explore all of space and time - travel between stars at a speed a million times greater than the speed of light, accelerate the flow of time, observing the leisurely orbital motion of worlds. Every planet you encounter on your journey features procedural 3D terrain with detailed textures. Everything you see in the skyâstars and galaxies, planets and moons, asteroids and comets, black holes and neutron stars, star clusters and nebulaeâcan be explored with the click of a button. Spaceships with Newtonian physics and autopilot features (early in development, but already fully functional) allow you to travel anywhere in the universe in Simulator mode. SpaceEngine is also very friendly to modders and add-ons. Create your own planets, star systems, and even entire galaxies, import spaceship models, add custom skins, and much moreâand share your creations with the community.
Game Features :
Astronomy. All types of celestial objects are represented: galaxies, nebulae, stars and star clusters, planets and moons, comets and asteroids. Known celestial objects are represented using data from real astronomical catalogs: NGC/IC, Messier, HIPPARCOS, GAIA, Gliese, Kepler, MPC, and others. Unexplored regions of space contain procedurally generated objects: galaxies, stars, star clusters, nebulae, and planetary systems.
Controls. The observer can move freely throughout the universe. Transitions between any celestial body and any scale are smooth. Moving through space is very simple: click the mouse to select a target, press a hotkey to fly. Free flight is also possible, game-style, using the WASD keys or a joystick/gamepad. Time travel is also possible: speed up, slow down, or reverse the flow of time and jump to a specific date. Detailed interactive tutorials teach all aspects of the controls.
Graphics. Volumetric 3D models of galaxies and nebulae with interstellar dust clouds, 3D landscapes of planets and stars. Real data from space probes is used for many Solar System bodies; free DLC with ultra-high-resolution textures is available. On unexplored and procedural planets, the surface is procedurally generated using the graphics card. Realistic light scattering in the atmosphere, animated auroras, comet tails, and solar eclipse shadows are featured. Physically correct light bending near black holes and neutron stars, animated accretion disks and jets.
Physics. Realistic and physically correct generation of procedural objects (galaxies, star systems, planets) and their physical properties (mass, radius, temperature, atmospheric parameters, etc.). The orbital motion of planets, moons, and stars in star systems is calculated in real time. Realistic spacecraft design and flight physics: orbital motion, atmospheric flight model, Alcubierre warp drive physics.
Sound. Original background music created by multiple musicians, with context-sensitive playback. Sound effects for planetary environments and spaceships are in development.
Tools. Built-in tutorials will help you get started using the Planetarium. Search for celestial objects by name and find nearby star systems, view a zoomable map of the Universe and a planetary system map, save, export, and import locations that can be shared with friends, view a log of objects you've visited, a built-in wiki with text descriptions of many known objects, display the orbital trajectories of celestial bodies, their names and markers, view constellations, and many other tools.
