Description: The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a story-driven, mystical first-person game entirely dedicated to exploration and discovery. No battles and no explosions. If the game does leave you traumatized, we hope you won't notice. You play as Paul Prospero, a detective with an occult bent, who receives a disturbing letter from Ethan Carter. Realizing the boy is in danger, Paul heads to Ethan's home in Red Creek Valley. Things are even worse than he imagined: a brutal murder has occurred, and Ethan has disappeared. Paul quickly realizes this isn't the only murder he must investigate. Inspired by the mystery novels and other macabre books of the early twentieth century, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter takes gaming to a whole new level. While it features detective storytelling and plenty of mysteries, this isn't a puzzle game. The focus is on atmosphere, mood, and the characters. However, the mysteries won't unravel, and they'll need your help. Relying on Paul's supernatural ability to speak with the dead and your own powers of observation, you will uncover the mystery of numerous murders, discover the origins of the ancient dark force lurking in the Red Creek Valley, and the fate of a missing boy.
