Birmingham, England. Corruption in the English police force and proliferation of street gang activity are steadily ravaging the country. The Red Order, once renowned as a centuries-old anti-crime organization, now thrives in England as a leading supplier of medical products. However, beneath this facade lies a sinister secret. After moving to Birmingham, Detective James is tasked with assisting in the investigation of a mysterious murder on Highburn Street. Despite the effects of artificial dementia and being haunted by a demon, James immerses himself in the investigation, which ultimately worsens his condition. A CHANGING CRIME SCENE - Highburn Mansion changes as you investigate. Old hallways lead to new places, doors bleed through walls, and entire rooms slide out before you. This place doesn't want you there. It will assault your senses, showing you things that shouldn't exist. Resurfacing memories you tried so hard to bury. Wallpaper peels like skin. Bodies shimmer above the table. Feeling someone's eyes on you? Some discoveries don't happen the first time. Or the second. Not everything in THIEF'S SHELTER will be revealed in a single playthrough. Videotapes, masks, Red Order conspiracies, James's past, and other events may be missed the first time. TOOLS - Use tools like a flashlight and digital camera to uncover secrets hidden in plain sight. Shine a UV light to reveal invisible marks, footprints, and bloodstains that lead to new clues. Use the camera to peer into the mansion's hidden layers, revealing what's invisible to the naked eye.
