Tunguska: The Visitation is a 3D top-down shooter with survival elements such as food, medicine, energy, stat boosts, a hazardous environment, and inventory. Survival mechanics minimize routine work and inconvenience for the player, but encourage strategic planning before each encounter. Story-rich quests and the rich world of Tunguska encourage exploration and discovery. Information and side quests can be found through dialogue with NPCs, campfire conversations, or from documents and notes scattered throughout Tunguska. Inspired by the Strugatsky brothers' Roadside Picnic and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series—one of the greatest games of all time—Tunguska is a one-man-developed vision of a new post-Visit zone: a place filled not only with horror and danger, but also with the freedom and opportunity sought by many in the lead-up to the collapse of the USSR.
