Description: Mysteriously leaving New York, Frey Holland finds herself in a wondrous land called Atia. Frey unexpectedly discovers a magical ornament imbued with the power of speech on her wrist, and also discovers within herself a magical gift that can be used to travel the vastness of Atia. Having officially christened her new metal friend a bracelet, Frey sets out on a journey in hopes of finding her way home. Frey soon learns that this beautiful land once flourished under the rule of benevolent rulers called the Tantes, but was then mercilessly crippled by an evil force. A fog descended, turning ordinary animals into bloodthirsty beasts, people into monsters, and the bountiful lands into dangerous and treacherous ones. Those Tantes, however, still rule their own landsâbut now they have become mad and dishonest sorceresses. Frey is immune to the mist, and desperate to find answers, she reluctantly agrees to help the last remaining inhabitants of Atia, who see her as their only hope for the future. In this alien and treacherous land, Frey must delve into the depths of corruption, battle terrifying creatures, challenge the Tantes themselves, and discover a truth that will give her far more than she ever hoped for.
