Natural Selection 2 pits aliens against humans in a futuristic fight for survival. Wield devastating weapons as a Space Marine or become a Xenomorph, a deadly lifeform from the Kharaa race. While both teams battle in a first-person perspective, two commanders overlook the battlefield from a top-down perspective, similar to a real-time strategy game. These commanders can issue orders, deploy structures, gather resources, research technologies, and use special abilities to help their teams defeat the enemy. Natural Selection 2 is a first-person shooter and real-time strategy game combined into one. Each team, human and alien, has a commander. The commander overlooks the battlefield, issues orders, deploy structures, gather resources, research technologies, and use special abilities.
