Description: In this medieval settlement simulator, you will lead a noble family and face uprisings, strife, and intrigue. Care for the peasants, plot against your enemies, and seek the lost knowledge of the fallen empire. The empire has ceased to exist, disintegrating into separate kingdoms, their rulers locked in a struggle for influence. Noble families resort to any means necessary, employing both soldiers and cloak-and-dagger masters. Not all is well in these lands: famine decimates the peasants, war and disunity threaten public welfare, lords and ladies indulge in idleness and debauchery, and beyond the borders of the former empire, armies of invading kings gather, ready to sow death and destruction. In these turbulent times, you must nurture your kingdom and protect the members of your noble family from destruction. This medieval settlement simulator invites you to write your own story about the rise and fall of dynasties. The care of the city and the entire kingdom rests on your shoulders. Members of your ruling family can not only cooperate but also plot against each other. Each has their own strengths, weaknesses, and goals, which influence both the development of relationships within the family and diplomatic contacts with other rulers. Your noble relatives will make acquaintances, throw drinking parties, hire assassins, issue orders to peasants, lead troops into battle, and study ancient texts.

  • You are the one responsible for the city and the entire kingdom. Members of your ruling family can collaborate or plot against one another. Each has their own strengths, weaknesses, and goals, which influence both the development of relationships within the family and diplomatic contacts with other rulers. Your noble kin will make friends, throw drinking parties, hire assassins, issue orders to peasants, lead troops into battle, and study ancient texts.
  • The backbone of any kingdom in Norland is the common people, who serve you faithfully both on the battlefield and in the fields... as long as there's grain in the barns and beer in the cellars. Every peasant has their own needs, desires, and thoughts; they're hard to please, but tempting them to rebellion, crime, or dissent is easy. Choose whether to heed the voice of the people or crush any discontent with the blow of the executioner's axe.
  • Norland is set in a world with a rich past, woven from the legacy of many different cultures. The anarchy that followed the fall of the Empire has led to troubled times. Somewhere, the Unholy Horde is gaining strength, plundering and burning everything in its path, while the Church of Saint Sophia uses faith as a cover to seize as many resources as possible.
  • When all else fails, blades are drawn and bloodshed begins. Raise a militia, recruit prisoners with the promise of freedom, and dispatch noble lords to command troops to boost morale. But who will have to give their lives under your banner?
  • Norland offers a wide variety of gameplay scenarios and options for fine-tuning your nobles and the world around them. Create your own society and tell a unique story about anything: warlords sending penal battalions into battle, religious fanatics bringing the light of truth to the world, wealthy and educated idealists hoarding precious knowledge, spies weaving intrigues and conspiracies… What will your story be?
