The game's premise is as follows: you're a robotics mechanic sent to a fully automated agricultural planet to maintain and repair machinery. Upon landing, your ship crashes, leaving you alone on the planet with a minimal set of tools. Your very first foray reveals that the local robots have gone crazy and, instead of focusing on milk yields, catches, and grain harvests, have begun actively arming themselves. Only engineering ingenuity and equally crazy mechanisms can counter this madness. Scrap Mechanic offers not only eye-catching cartoon graphics but also an excellent physics engine that allows you to create completely unique vehicles. The game world is randomly generated, customizable, and full of surprises. Some items in Scrap Mechanic can be crafted from mined resources, while others (such as bearings and engines) will have to be searched for.
The game may seem frozen when you launch it, but it isn't! You just need to wait.
