Game features :

Control any ship: X4 lets you pilot any ship. From the smallest scouts, various medium-class ships, and even massive aircraft carriers, you can pilot them yourself from the cockpit controls, as well as from a third-person perspective. A key focus in developing X4 was making it quick and easy to move between your ships. You can exit a ship, descend a ramp, walk across the dock of a massive station to another ship docked there, and replace the pilot by ordering them to take over.

Modular Stations and Ship Upgrades: The core of X-Universe games has always been the construction of space stations. After earning enough money through trade or battles, many players want to influence the game's economy and the universe on a larger scale. In X4, this is possible in a free and creative manner. Stations can be built from a variety of modules, be they production modules, residential complexes, docks, or any other type of structure. The new map management system will help you easily build and connect various modules, creating your own unique stations. A wide range of ship upgrades is also available. All engines, weapons, and other equipment can be added in the graphical editor, and you'll instantly see the upgrade on your ship.

The most dynamic X Universe yet: X4 is the first game in the X series to allow any playable race or faction to build and develop their empires without restrictions; they enjoy the same freedom in constructing modular stations as the player. Races expand their empires based on supply and demand, leading to a highly dynamic universe where any player action can lead to global changes in the shared world.

Managing your Empire with an advanced map: Once you have enough ships and NPCs to serve you as pilots, crew, or station managers, the map will be your primary tool for managing them. Ships can be ordered with a single click, and drag-and-drop operations allow you to plot their future course. Visually plan your trade routes, coordinate attacks across your entire fleet, establish a hierarchy between ships, or send them on deep-space exploration missions.

The most detailed economy in the X series: One of the main appealing features of the X series has always been its detailed economy. Goods are produced at hundreds of stations and transported by thousands of ships, which are real NPCs. Through their trade, they create a working economy for the game. This is the foundation of our living and breathing universe. But now, in X4, we've taken this even further. For the first time in the X series, all goods involved in the NPC economy are produced from resources: ships, weapons, ammunition, and even stationsâ€”absolutely everything comes from a working economic simulation model.

Research and Teleportation: Instant and seamless movement between ships and NPCs who manage your empire will be enhanced. Once you have a fleet, you'll be able to research a new technology at your Headquarters: Teleportation. Once you unlock teleportation, you'll be able to move between ships much faster and experience firsthand all the critical situations that befall your NPC pilots. Any order you've given to a ship before will become a mission. But as soon as you leave the ship, the NPC pilot will take control for you and continue the mission.

Get into the game: In X4, you can begin playing using several game scenarios and different characters, each with their own role, set of established relationships, as well as a ship and technologies. No matter what you choose, you'll always be free to develop as you wish. Focus on space exploration, making money through illegal trade or even theft, commanding vast fleets, or becoming the greatest entrepreneur. It's up to you to decide.
