Half-Life 2 is a science fiction first-person shooter video game and a sequel to Half-Life, developed by Valve Corporation.
Half-Life: Source - Released in 1998 and winner of over 50 Game of the Year awards, Half-Life set new standards for the action genre. Half-Life: Source is an updated version of the critically acclaimed, best-selling PC game. Thanks to Source technology, it features improved physics, higher-quality special effects, and much more.
Half-Life 2 continues the story of the iconic game approximately twenty years after the Black Mesa incident, now in City 17, one of the largest remaining cities on Earth, located somewhere in Eastern Europe. At the beginning of the game, the mysterious G-Man awakens Gordon from stasis and rather vaguely hints at more "great things to come." Seconds later, Gordon finds himself on a train arriving in City 17, unarmed and without his protective power suit, which served him faithfully and repeatedly saved his life in the first game.
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast expands on the story of Half-Life, telling how headcrabs overran the town of Ravenholm in Half-Life 2. Essentially, the level is a demonstration of the updated capabilities of the Source engine.
Half-Life 2: Episode One is a continuation of the storyline of the computer game Half-Life 2. The action picks up where Half-Life 2 ended. At the end of the previous game, protagonist Gordon Freeman prevented Chairman Wallace Breen from teleporting to the Combine capital and destroyed the dark energy reactor along with one of the Citadel's personal teleporters. At this point, time suddenly stopped, sounds disappeared, and Alyx Vance, standing nearby, froze a few meters from the center of the explosion. A mysterious G-Man appeared out of nowhere, praised the player for his work, and placed Gordon back into stasis.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two â The game takes place immediately after the events of Episode One, in a forested area near the destroyed City 17. According to the plot, Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance must reach White Forest, the Resistance base, and deliver the Combine secret data captured in Episode I to the rebels.
16x AI Upscaled Textures for Half-Life SourceThis mod replaces all of Half-Life Source's default textures with ones upscaled using Topaz Labs' AI Gigapixel neural network, giving the classic game a more detailed and modern look while preserving the original design and aesthetics. The main goal of this mod is to ensure that all of the enhanced effects and built-in HD models in Half-Life Source blend harmoniously with the rest of the environment, without clashing with the old, blurry textures. This mod requires Half-Life: Source, which is technically simply an enhanced version of Half-Life using the Source engine (the engine also used for Half-Life 2), which supports physics, ragdolls, enhanced effects, and more.
